Jan De Nul Group is looking for an experienced Contract Manager to join their team in Aalst, Belgium. You will oversee contract management in complex construction projects, ensuring effective communication and risk management. The role requires a Master's degree, fluency in French, and at least 10 years of related experience.
This position provides a blend of technical, legal, and financial insights, emphasizing strong negotiation skills and an active presence on-site in the Mons region.

In this role, you will be part of a specialized Contract Management team that acts as a bridge between project management, the legal department, and operational teams. You will support project teams in effectively managing contractual risks and contribute to a more structured and uniform approach to claims management, variation orders, and contractual administration.
Initially, you will be involved in the preparation of a major building project in the Hainaut/Namur region.
For this position, we are looking for a strong French‑speaking professional who will be closely integrated into the site team.
As a Contract Manager, you will support project teams with all contractual aspects throughout the entire project lifecycle. You will translate operational and technical issues into a legal and contractual framework and help develop strategies to protect Jan De Nul Group’s interests to the greatest extent possible.
You will work closely with project management, site teams, the internal legal department, and external partners. In doing so, you will play an active role in building strong contractual files, preparing negotiations, and managing complex claims and disputes.
Within a prestigious building project in the Hainaut/Namur region, you will be responsible for contractual follow‑up and support from the preparation phase onwards. You will be fully integrated into the project team and actively support operational teams in managing contractual risks, changes, and disruptions throughout the entire duration of the project.
The position combines technical, legal, and financial insights and requires strong communication skills, analytical capabilities, and a pragmatic approach.
You hold a Master's degree in Commercial Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Industrial Engineering and combine a strong operational background with an affinity for contract management in complex construction projects.
