As a Procurement Engineer for Construction Projects at Jan De Nul Group, you’ll have the opportunity to work in an environment where no two days are the same. Are you ready for a role characterised by an enormous diversity of people, projects and challenges?

The world’s largest lock in Antwerp, an innovative quay in Panama, the sustainable and architecturally outstanding Résidence Palace in Brussels, or the comprehensive A11 motorway. All part of the Jan De Nul Group!

Civil engineering: the group’s roots and still a key division. Jan De Nul Group focuses on complex projects and offers clients – both private and public – a comprehensive, bespoke package. This approach, combined with our technical expertise and years of experience, ensures that we rank among the very best, including in the field of civil engineering.

Your Role

From the central purchasing department, you actively support purchases for various construction sites. This can range from materials to services. In addition, you are responsible for the complete management of overarching suppliers: from sourcing and contracting to communication, implementation and evaluation.

Your main duties and responsibilities

  • Study multiple and important procurement files.

  • Correctly and purposefully send out competitions.

  • Follow up and analyze the offers.

  • Construction and negotiation of framework contracts

  • Preparation of clear price comparison tables in view of best cost/benefit analysis and covered risk.

  • Justifying the choice of a Supplier/Subcontractor.

  • Meticulous preparation and follow-up of contracts.

  • Ensure implementation and evaluation

  • Closely monitor and apply existing procurement processes.

What do you need?

  • You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree, and, above all, have a keen interest in our projects

  • You have a technical background or are willing to fully immerse yourself in this field

  • Experience in project-based procurement for buildings or infrastructure projects is an advantage but not a strict requirement

  • You have strong communication skills, take the initiative and enjoy working as part of a team

  • You are able to work well under pressure, are a problem-solver and work efficiently.

  • As well as working meticulously, analytically and with a focus on results, you have sufficient market knowledge and the right negotiation skills

  • You will be based at our central and easily accessible offices in Hofstade/Aalst and are willing to work occasionally and on a project basis from the construction site

  • You have a driving license category B
