Job description

Vacancy: Community Engagement Coordinator Community Engagement Coordinator

Air Cargo Belgium (ACB) is the official representative of the air cargo community at Brussels Airport Cargo. With over 170 member companies, we bring together airlines, handlers, forwarders, the airport authority and other stakeholders. We connect, inspire, and strengthen the Brussels air cargo community through events, projects and communication.

Every year we organize several events that range from content-driven seminars with 20 participants, to bigger networking events like our BBQ with over 700 guests, to more leisurely events like a football tournament. Additionally, we also organize smaller activities like handing out Easter Eggs.

With our renewed strategy, we aim to grow from 3,000 yearly event visitors/participants to over 7,000 in the coming years. This means more events, new ideas on how to best reach our audiences and more strong communication! To make this happen, we’re looking for a Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team.

Your Role

As our new Community Engagement Coordinator, you will:

Events & Coordination
  • Take the lead in event coordination from A to Z, including the planning, promotion and execution of workshops, seminars, networking events and larger community events.
  • Work closely with our Community Engagement Lead, another coordinator and the wider ACB team to ensure smooth event organization and execution.
  • Occasionally represent ACB, and support the community, at international fairs and events.
Communication & Content
  • Manage and grow ACB’s social media presence in collaboration with your community engagement colleagues, using tools such as Canva and scheduling tools to create engaging and professional content.
  • Create engaging content for newsletters, social media and online updates, highlighting community news, success stories and relevant information
  • Support the promotion and visibility of ACB’s initiatives, events and community activities.
Community Engagement & Partnerships
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with our member companies and act as a central point of contact for the community.
  • Contribute to and execute ACB’s community engagement strategy, tailored to the dynamics of the air cargo industry.
  • Gather feedback from community members and translate it into actionable recommendations to continuously improve our community engagement.
  • Support the growth of memberships and sponsorships by attracting and engaging relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify and develop partnerships with relevant stakeholders to strengthen the visibility and impact of the ACB community.
  • Monitor engagement metrics and data and report on the results and impact of community engagement initiatives.
  • Act as a visible presence within the community by visiting members to share information, gather feedback, distribute materials and support campaigns or initiatives.
What we offer
  • A full-time, permanent contract with start date to be agreed (preferably as soon as possible).
  • Hybrid working: The first 3 months are office-based to ensure a smooth onboarding and immersion. After 3 months, 1 day of remote work per week is possible, increasing to 2 days per week after 6 months.
  • A flat organizational structure with a young, dynamic team of 10 people.
  • A fun and engaging work environment with plenty of variety — no two days are the same!
  • Strong team culture: yearly 3-day teambuilding plus smaller activities throughout the year.
  • Opportunities to travel for events and international fairs.
  • Training opportunities: including a basic IATA course with certification.
  • A wide range of benefits: laptop, mobile phone, meal- and eco-vouchers, flexible working hours.
Your Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Event Management or Marketing (or similar).
  • 3–5 years of relevant professional experience (preferred).
  • Excellent writing and communication skills in English (all external communication).
  • Good knowledge of Dutch (our internal team language).
  • Good knowledge of French, as the role involves direct contact with warehouse staff.
  • Hands-on experience with graphic design (e.g. designing posters with Canva or similar) and a good eye for visual communication.
  • Social media fluency and confidence in creating and managing engaging content across platforms.
  • A people-oriented personality: you enjoy meeting people, building relationships and making new contacts.
  • A proactive attitude: you take initiative, see what needs to be done and act on it.
  • A valid category B driving licence (required for driving a van/minibus for our events).
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Open to learning about aviation and air cargo and connecting with major players in the industry.

A standard desk job isn’t enough for you — you love variety, dynamism and contact with people.
