Barco is seeking a System Architect Cloud & Data to define and evolve the architecture of a cloud-based data platform within Barco Control Rooms, combining leadership with hands-on technology innovation. You will shape secure, scalable cloud architectures and guide AI integration across product domains while working with multi-country teams.

The role requires a master’s degree in CS or related field, extensive cloud-native experience, and fluency in English.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• Proven experience designing and evolving cloud-native software architectures at scale.
• Hands-on mindset with PoCs, prototypes, experiments, and validations.
• Broad software engineering expertise: serverless, event-driven systems, microservices, APIs, cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles: scalability, reliability, observability, security, cost optimization.
• Knowledge of cloud security fundamentals, IAM, data protection, secure development practices.
• Understanding of modern AI/ML concepts: LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, prompt engineering, model evaluation.
• Strong learning mindset to stay current on cloud tech and AI.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management for diverse audiences.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.

Responsabilités

• Define and own end-to-end software architecture of a cloud data platform.
• Design secure, scalable, and sovereign cloud architectures.
• Drive multi-layered data architectures and data lake solutions.
• Establish and maintain architecture governance practices.
• Stay hands-on with experiments, PoCs, validations, and code reviews.
• Guide AI integration into product architectures with security and scalability.
• Assess AI-enabled systems and provide architectural guidance.
• Monitor cloud/AI industry trends and advise on technical roadmaps.
• Promote system-wide thinking across components, teams and locations.
