European Investment Bank in Luxembourg seeks a Climate Change Specialist to drive climate risk workstreams and Paris-aligned policies across the Projects Directorate. You will coordinate with climate experts, manage data and indicators, and represent the Bank in external technical groups.

You will report to the Head of the Policy Implementation Unit within the Sustainability and Climate Office, contributing to Phase 2 of the Climate Bank Roadmap with a high degree of autonomy.

Qualifications

• University degree (minimum equivalent to a Bachelor) in engineering, economics or a relevant field.
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience, including 2 years in climate change.
• Strong Excel and data analytics skills; coding to process large datasets is advantageous.
• Knowledge of international climate policy and practice among international financial institutions and UN organisations is advantageous.
• Experience in greenhouse gas calculations and accounting methodologies (PCAF, GHG Protocol) is advantageous.
• Experience with decarbonization policies and climate mitigation/adaptation projects is advantageous.
• Experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and teams.
• Excellent knowledge of English and good command of French; other EU languages advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Implement the Paris Alignment framework for counterparties within the Bank's climate policy context and risk framework.
• Lead GHG accounting and reporting workstreams at project and portfolio levels; develop indicators.
• Contribute to the climate risk framework and act as focal point for technical support on transition climate risk scoring and data procurement.
• Develop external partnerships to advance EIB's climate risk work and Paris alignment with MDBs and NGFS.
