ENGIE Belgium in Brussels seeks a Market Risk Green Power professional to support management and monitoring of market risks for renewable assets, PPAs and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across Central Western Europe. Your role includes defining risk mandates, challenging hedging strategies, assessing risk of complex transactions and supporting risk framework calibration across European markets.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Engineering, Finance, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or another quantitative discipline.
• 1–3 years of experience in energy, finance, risk management, data analytics or another relevant quantitative field.
• Knowledge of energy markets and a strong interest in renewable generation, battery storage and risk management.
• Proficiency in Python or a strong willingness to rapidly develop programming and automation skills.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and ability to work in a dynamic and fast-changing environment.
• Fluency in English and proactive, collaborative communication.

Responsabilités

• Define, monitor and maintain risk mandates and market risk limits for Green Power and BESS activities across Central Western Europe, including Poland.
• Challenge hedging and risk management strategies proposed by Front Office teams to balance risk and return.
• Assess the risk profile and profitability of complex transactions and opportunities requiring governance approval.
• Support ENGIE's Renewable Business Unit in monitoring and calibrating market risk frameworks across European markets.
• Control market data, valuation parameters and risk metrics used for Green PPAs, BESS assets and related portfolios.
• Contribute to development, automation and improvement of market risk tools, reporting solutions and analytical processes.
