Job summary

DEME Infra seeks a Calculator/Estimator to join our team and contribute to challenging civil and marine infrastructure tendering. You will analyse technical and contractual requirements, develop cost estimates and translate them into competitive offers.

Your role blends technical insight with commercial awareness to identify risks, opportunities and robust project approaches. You will collaborate with internal specialists, challenge assumptions and present substantiated calculations during

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Experience with cost estimation and calculations.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; proficient in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Analysing tender documents, drawings, technical specifications and contractual requirements.
• Preparing, structuring and substantiating detailed project cost estimates.
• Determining quantities, production rates, man-hours, materials and equipment requirements.
• Comparing alternative design and execution methods to identify the most suitable solution.
• Assessing constructability, logistics, phasing, planning and safety considerations.
• Requesting, analysing and comparing quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Identifying and quantifying project risks and opportunities.
• Working closely with internal specialists to challenge assumptions and optimise the proposed project approach.
• Presenting and substantiating your calculations during tender reviews.
• Ensuring a clear handover to the project team after contract award.
• You actively contribute to the strategy, feasibility and competitiveness of our infrastructure projects.
