VeroTech is seeking a C++ software engineer to strengthen the backend stack of a software platform. You will collaborate with R&D engineers to translate new requirements into features and support decisions that impact architecture, performance, and delivery quality.

About The Role

In this VeroTech consultancy role, you will help shape the backend stack of a software platform. Working closely with R&D engineers, you will turn new requirements into well-designed features and support decisions that improve performance, architecture and delivery quality. You will contribute throughout the refinement, design, development and testing flow, and you will collaborate in cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions end to end. The role suits someone who enjoys solving technical challenges and continuously improving how software is built.

Key responsibilities

• Develop backend features for the software platform in close collaboration with R&D engineers
• Improve software performance and contribute to stronger software architecture
• Refine new requirements and translate them into practical technical solutions
• Design and develop the best solution for each technical challenge
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver and test solutions end to end
• Propose continuous improvements that strengthen quality in every delivery

What we're looking for

You bring a solid software engineering background, work in a pragmatic and hands-on way, and value quality from the start. You collaborate well, think analytically and communicate clearly in English.

• Bachelor in computer science or a related software discipline
• 4+ years of industry experience in a software development role
• Experience with C++ 11, 14, 17 or 20 and Python, plus proficiency in GIT
• Experience working within Linux and Windows environments, with Linux OS configuration experience especially valued
• Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written
• A pragmatic, analytical and hands-on mindset, with a strong focus on testing and early validation
• Motivation to work close to the hardware layer and interest in image processing, with first-hand experience as a plus
• Additional experience with secure software development, threat modelling, risk management, Docker, CI/CD, gRPC, lean software development, .NET/F#/C#, BDD, DDD, Grafana/Prometheus/Loki, Modbus, OPC UA, CUDA, TensorRT or machine learning concepts is a plus
