Job summary

Cytiva is seeking a Business Development Manager for Gene Therapy to drive commercial growth and technical adoption across advanced therapy workflows. You will support customers developing and manufacturing viral vectors, nucleic acid‑based therapies and next‑generation biologics.

This remote role covers Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg and France. Requirements include a life sciences degree and proven experience in bioprocessing, cell/gene therapy, vaccines, or related commercial roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Strong experience in bioprocessing, cell/gene therapy, vaccines, or advanced therapy commercialization.
• Experience with modalities like viral vectors, nucleic acids, or cell-based manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., SFDC) for opportunities and pipeline.
• Experience supporting Design‑In programs and customer adoption of complex bioprocessing tech.

Responsibilities

• Own advanced therapy workflows including viral vectors, vaccines and related modalities.
• Drive order growth by expanding Cytiva technologies within gene therapy programs.
• Partner with Field Application Specialists to test, demonstrate, and train customers on Cytiva tech.
• Support marketing and lead generation by engaging in events and customer outreach to generate MQLs.
• Manage CRM and funnel in SFDC aligned with MQL, Design‑In, and funnel playbooks.
• Travel up to 40–50% with a valid driver's license.

The Business Development Manager Gene Theapy is responsible for driving commercial growth and technical adoption of Cytiva solutions across advanced therapy workflows, supporting customers developing and manufacturing viral vectors, nucleic acid‑based therapies, and next‑generation biologics. This position reports to the EMEA Worklfow Development Leader , will cover Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, and France, and is a remote role.

What you will do

• Own advanced therapy workflows including Viral Vectors, Vaccines based on Viral Vectors, pDNA, exosomes, Synthetic DNA, mRNA, and Oligonucleotides, with a deep understanding of biological activity, development, and manufacturing processes.
• Drive order growth within the assigned territory by expanding Cytiva technologies with existing customers and introducing Cytiva solutions into gene therapy programs through Design‑In initiatives.
• Partner with Field Application Specialists (FAS) to test, demonstrate, and deliver technical training on Cytiva technologies at customer sites, clearly differentiating Cytiva’s value proposition.
• Support marketing and lead generation activities by collaborating with Field Event Marketing, identifying and supporting key regional events, congresses, and customer engagements to generate and convert MQLs.
• Manage CRM and funnel execution by maintaining MQLs, Design‑In projects, and Opportunities in SFDC in alignment with the MQL, Design‑In, and Funnel Management Playbooks.

Who you are

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• Strong Experience in bioprocessing, cell and gene therapy, vaccines, or advanced therapy commercialization, application support, or technical sales.
• Demonstrated experience working with advanced therapy modalities such as viral vectors, nucleic acids, or cell‑based manufacturing processes.
• Proficiency using CRM systems (e.g., SFDC) for opportunity, funnel, and project tracking.
• Experience supporting Design‑In programs, technical evaluations, or customer adoption of complex bioprocessing technologies.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical / Environment Requirements

• Ability to travel up to 40 .-50%, including overnight travel, within the assigned territory.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in

• Experience with multi‑modality solution selling across upstream, downstream, and nucleic acid manufacturing workflows.
• Prior exposure to advanced therapy customers in clinical‑stage or commercial manufacturing environments.

Responsable Développement Commercial Thérapie Génique

Le/la Business Development Manager Gene Therapy est chargé(e) de stimuler la croissance commerciale et l'adoption technique des solutions Cytiva à travers les flux de travail des thérapies avancées. Il/elle accompagne les clients impliqués dans le développement et la fabrication de vecteurs viraux, de thérapies à base de vecteurs viraux et de produits biologiques de nouvelle génération.

Ce poste est rattaché au/à la Workflow Development Leader EMEA, couvre la Belgique, les Pays-Bas, le Luxembourg et la France, et est basé en télétravail.

Profil recherché

• Diplôme de niveau Licence/Bachelor ou supérieur en sciences de la vie, biotechnologies, biochimie, génie chimique ou discipline scientifique connexe.
• Expérience significative dans le bioprocessing, les thérapies cellulaires et géniques, les vaccins, ou dans la commercialisation, le support applicatif ou la vente technique de solutions pour les thérapies avancées.
• Expérience démontrée avec des modalités thérapeutiques avancées telles que les vecteurs viraux, les acides nucléiques ou les procédés de fabrication basés sur les cellules.
• Maîtrise des systèmes CRM (par exemple SFDC) pour le suivi des opportunités, du pipeline et des projets.
• Expérience dans le soutien de programmes de Design‑In, d'évaluations techniques ou de l'adoption par les clients de technologies complexes de bioproduction.

Déplacements et exigences

• Capacité à voyager 40 à 50 % du temps, y compris avec nuitées, au sein du territoire attribué.
• Permis de conduire valide avec un dossier de conduite conforme aux exigences de l’entreprise.
