Join Eval Europe and Shape the Future of Sustainable Packaging
Are you ready to combine deep technical expertise with commercial impact? Do you want to play a key role in driving the transition towards sustainable, recyclable food packaging solutions?
Join Eval Europe as a Business Development Engineer and play a leading role in shaping the future of EVOH applications in high-barrier solutions. In this newly created position, you will convert business opportunities created by evolving European sustainability regulations and key market trends into commercial success. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine hands‑on customer engagement with strategic business development in a fast-changing and highly innovative market.
Your Mission
As a Business Development Engineer, you will build strong partnerships by aligning relevant stakeholders while converting opportunities into sales of EVAL™ EVOH resins. You will focus on growth initiatives, operating on a project-based approach rather than maintaining a traditional account portfolio.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Developing and managing relationships with multiple key stakeholders across Europe, providing technical and commercial support for the implementation of EVAL™ EVOH solutions.
- Identifying and capturing new business opportunities into sales in line with sustainability trends or European packaging regulations (e.g., recyclability and high-barrier requirements).
- Driving the replacement of non-recyclable or hard-to-recycle barrier materials with EVAL™ EVOH resins, which deliver exceptional gas barrier properties while keeping the packaging within recyclability thresholds.
- Validating and commercializing recyclable film solutions directly on packaging machinery.
- With support of your colleagues, troubleshooting technical issues on packaging lines during the conversion from non-recyclable structures to EVOH-based alternatives.
- Mapping the value chain to connect market development insights with the specific technical needs of contract packagers, machine builders, and brand owners.
- Managing projects from initial concept through to commercialization and industrial implementation.
- Collaborating closely with our Account Management, Technical Service, and Market Development teams to provide solutions for complex customer challenges.
- Representing Eval Europe at industry conferences, trade fairs, and networking events to expand business opportunities.

We are seeking a motivated, technically skilled professional with a strong commercial and pioneering mindset to drive packaging solutions within the shelf‑life extension and flexible food packaging industry.
- A degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
- >5 years of professional experience in business development, technical sales, or as a packaging engineer in a B2B environment.
- Deep, hands‑on knowledge of food packaging machinery and a strong understanding of how films run on commercial packaging lines.
- Proven expertise in shelf‑life extension, food preservation (specifically fresh food and meat), and modified atmosphere packaging.
- Experience working directly for or with food packaging companies, contract packagers, or packaging machine manufacturers.
- Experience selling barrier polymers or resins is considered a distinct advantage.
- Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in other European languages, in particular Dutch, German , French or any other, is considered a strong advantage.
- Willingness to travel extensively across Europe.
- Strategic, independent, and solution‑oriented thinker who thrives in a complex, international business environment.
- Ability to translate business opportunities and technical insights into commercial success by aligning customers and industry stakeholders.
