Job summary

ENGIE Belgium is seeking a proactive Business Controller – Middle Officer to join the Financial Operations BP Clients team in Brussels. The role focuses on daily P&L monitoring, monthly closings, and financial analysis across Europe, with exposure to power-related activities and energy market dynamics.

You will drive standardization and automation efforts, collaborating with teams in the Netherlands and France, and contribute to forecasting and reporting for key accounts and market access

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Economics or Engineering with proven experience in financial controlling.
  • Advanced Excel and data handling skills.
  • Working knowledge of SAP; proficiency in Power BI is a plus.
  • Fluency in English and French.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure reliable daily P&L reporting and perform sanity checks. Explain and validate P&L with Front Office. Build bridges between economic and accounting figures
  • Perform monthly closing & reporting for which you control postings sent to SAP and ensure data consistency, reconcile intercompany discrepancies and investigate variances, build and maintain eco-accounting bridges and support auditors and ensure reporting quality
  • Carry out financial analysis & business support: delivering Monthly Business Reviews (YTD analysis, variances, KPIs), contributing to Budget and Mid-Term Plan processes, analysing working capital and cash flow and ensuring data quality
  • Contribute continuously to transversal finance improvements by looking for standardizations and automations for which interacting with controllers in the Netherlands and France will be key.

For the Financial Operations BP Clients team we are currently looking for a dual role combining Business Controller & Middle O ffic er (F/M/X) based in Brussels.

We are a bi-localized team responsible for monitoring the P&L of the BP Clients Business Platform across Europe. BP Clients plays a key role in securing physical sourcing (gas & power) for ENGIE’s key accounts and managing market access activities. This position focuses primarily on power-related activities, including electricity contracts, imbalances, green certificates and guarantees of origin, as well as CFFO production analysis

YOUR PROFILE as Business Controller – Middle Officer
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Economics or Engineering with proven experience in financial controlling
  • Advanced Excel and data handling skills and a working knowledge of SAP.
  • Proficiency in PowerBi is considered a real plus
  • Fluency in both English & French
  • Strong analytical and synthesis skills
  • Rigorous yet pragmatic mindset

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
