Job summary

itsme is seeking a Business Controller to join its finance team in Belgium. You will own FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and variances, partnering with multiple departments to steer strategic decisions.

The role emphasizes data quality, BI enhancements with Power BI, and cross-functional collaboration in a small, hands-on setup. You will report to the Finance Manager and contribute to tax projects, close processes, and AI-driven finance initiatives in a growing scale-up.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience in audit or controlling.
• Master's degree in economics, business, accounting or a related field.
• Accurate, data-driven and able to spot inconsistencies quickly.
• Comfortable with large datasets; experience with BI tools and ERP/CRM is a plus.
• Fluent Dutch and/or French with good English.

Responsibilities

• Lead FP&A and monthly reporting for management, shareholders, and teams.

• Partner with operations, sales, product, and HR to drive business insights.

We are currently looking for a Business Controller. You will join a small, hands-on finance team in a scale-up and report to the Finance Manager. Your core is FP&A and business partnering, but you don't stay in one lane. You work closely with our Business Operations team, the NetSuite and Salesforce experts, to make sure our data is reliable from source to report.

What your job looks like

• FP&A and reporting

You prepare the monthly reporting for management, shareholders and team leads, and explain the story behind the numbers.

You build and maintain budgets and rolling forecasts, and track how changes in the organisation impact them.

You analyse variances and flag what needs attention.

You develop and improve our BI reporting (currently Power BI).

• Business partnering

You are a finance partner for the whole organisation. As a small company, that means working with every department, from operations and sales to product and HR.

You support business cases: you build the financial model, challenge assumptions and help management make the right decision.

You deliver accurate data for cross-departmental projects.

• Support across finance

You step in where the team needs you. Depending on the moment, that means backing up accounting during the close, contributing to tax projects such as the wage withholding tax exemption and the innovation income deduction, or supporting customer billing.

• Data and AI in finance

You help automate and improve finance processes, increasingly using AI tools.

You review AI-generated output critically and make sure what leaves finance is correct.

• You have at least 3 years of experience in audit or controlling.

• You hold a master's degree in economics, business, accounting or a similar field

• You are accurate. You check your own work and spot inconsistencies quickly.

• You are data driven and comfortable working with large datasets. Experience with BI tools (ideally Power BI), an ERP (ideal NetSuite) and/or a CRM (ideally Salesforce) is a plus.

• You are flexible and like variety. Switching between a forecast, a business case and a tax file in the same week doesn't scare you.

• You take ownership and work independently, but ask for help when you need it.

• You communicate clearly with non-finance colleagues.

• You speak Dutch and/or French fluently and have a good command of English.
