Tata Consultancy Services Belgium is recruiting a Business Analyst to align strategic goals with stakeholder expectations. You will elicit, validate, and document business needs, map processes, and translate requirements into BRDs and user stories.

The role involves cross-functional collaboration and maintaining traceability throughout the project lifecycle. Responsibilities include creating functional specs, defining acceptance criteria, supporting UAT, and ensuring non-functional requirements

Qualifications

  • Experience using BABOK/IEEE 29148 for requirements.
  • Ability to document requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Strong stakeholder communication and alignment with business goals.

Responsabilités

  • Elicit, validate, and document business needs with traceability.

  • Create BRDs, Functional Specifications, and User Stories with criteria.
  • Define acceptance criteria; support UAT and test design.
  • Maintain requirements traceability and manage change requests.
  • Document NFRs (performance, security, usability) alongside FRs.
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication among stakeholders, developers, and testers.

Nature of the Tasks
  • Evaluate business context, drivers, and expected outcomes to ensure alignment with strategic goals and stakeholder expectations.
  • Elicit, validate, and document business needs using structured techniques to ensure clarity and traceability.
  • Assess current and target business models to identify value streams, capabilities, and operational impacts.
  • Map and evaluate existing processes to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities using industry-standard techniques.
  • Create visual representations of workflows using standard notations to support analysis, communication, and solution design.
  • Compare current and desired states to identify capability gaps, improvement areas, and potential solutions.
  • Convert business requirements into functional specifications that guide solution design and development.
  • Identify, assess, and document risks related to business processes, systems, and change initiatives, including mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute to strategic documentation that defines scope, objectives, value proposition, and governance for initiatives (e.g. business cases, vision documents, charters, and security plans).
  • Develop clear deliverables such as Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Specifications, and User Stories with acceptance criteria.
  • Define and manage acceptance criteria; support test case design and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure requirements are met.
  • Maintain requirements traceability (e.g. story/feature with test case) and manage change requests throughout the lifecycle.
  • Document non-functional requirements (NFRs) (e.g. performance, security, usability) alongside functional requirements.
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication among stakeholders, developers, and testers to ensure shared understanding and alignment.
Specific Expertise and Technologies
  • Good knowledge of information systems matters.
  • Good knowledge of large organisation administrative business processes.
  • Knowledge of analysis and modelling techniques aligned with BABOK and IEEE 29148, including user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, state diagrams, and entity relationship models.
  • Good knowledge of BPMN or UML or other with equivalent value.
  • Good knowledge of diagramming, modelling and wireframing tools (e.g. Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart, UML, BPMN, Axure, Balsamiq, Pencil).
  • Experience with collaboration platforms such as Confluence and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of software development and governance methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, RUP, and ITIL.
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as Jira or GitLab, including backlog practices (epics, user stories).
Minimum Level of Expertise
  • Junior for assistant roles under supervision.
  • Normal for independently operating Business Analysts.
Certification and/or Standards (Optional)

One of the following or an equivalent certification:

  • Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA)
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
  • Agile Analysis Certification (IIBA-AAC)
  • Professional in Business Analysis (PMI-PBA)
  • Certified Business Process Professional (CBPP)
  • Certified Business Analyst Thought Leader (CBATL)
  • Certified Foundation Level Business Analyst (CFLBA)
  • IREB Certified Professional for Requirements Engineering (CPRE)
Skills
  • Ability to onboard quickly, understand context, and contribute with minimal supervision.
  • Capacity in preparing business analysis deliverables while facilitating stakeholder input.
  • Competence in tailoring communication to business and technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in synthesising complex information into clear presentations for senior stakeholders.
  • Skill in applying structured analysis techniques to support evidence-based decisions.Ability to balance strategic alignment with detailed requirements and solution design.
  • Ability to apply high quality standards.
  • Ability to participate in multilingual meetings.
  • Ability to understand, speak and write English & one of French or Dutch is a plus.
  • Capacity to build trust and influence decision making.
  • Ability to work in a team as well as autonomously.
  • Results-oriented mindset, focused on delivering.
