Labcorp is seeking an onsite Junior Biosafety Officer and Prevention Advisor to join our Mechelen facility in Belgium. The role focuses on embedding EHS practices, biosafety containment, and regulatory compliance across laboratory and production areas.

You will coordinate risk assessments, manage safety programs, and serve as biosafety coordinator for contained use activities, with a focus on CL2/CL3 environments and GMO handling. Join a global leader driving health outcomes.

Qualifications

• BSc (Hons) scientific degree required.
• Belgian Level 2 Internal Prevention Advisor qualification required.
• 2+ years experience in EHS and safety program development.
• 2+ years of experience in biological safety for labs/bioproduction including risk assessment and containment CL2/CL3.

Responsabilités

• Serve as Internal Prevention Advisor (level 1) for the site’s Internal Service for Prevention and Protection at Work.
• Maintain and improve the EHS management system for both EOC and Laboratory facilities.
• Act as Biosafety Coordinator for contained use activities and coordinate risk assessments and containment measures.
• Oversee GMO and pathogen lifecycle controls including classification, inventory, and transport of dangerous goods.
• Own risk management processes: risk assessments, machine & process safety, lock-out/tag-out, emergency preparedness.
• Design and manage industrial hygiene and ergonomic programs.
• Oversee machinery safety and warehousing risks to support production efficiency.
• Ensure chemical safety (SDS, labeling, storage) in line with CLP/REACH.
• Participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses.
• Provide first aid and CPR as needed and deliver EHS training.
• Create and update SOPs for EHS and biological safety programs.
