VIB invites applications for a bioinformatics technician to analyze single-cell and spatial omics data in a dynamic, international lab environment. You will develop computational pipelines and collaborate with experimental researchers to interpret complex datasets, from RNA-seq to spatial omics, contributing to impactful biomedical insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in bioinformatics, biomedicine, bioengineering, biotechnology or a related field.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Experience in Python and/or R.
• Experience with Linux and Bash.
• Experience with bulk, single-cell or single-nucleus RNA-sequencing data.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve data-analysis issues.
• Experience presenting computational results to colleagues from different scientific backgrounds.

Responsabilités

• Analyze a broad range of single-cell and single-nucleus datasets (RNA-seq, ATAC-seq, perturbational omics).
• Work with spatial transcriptomics data (MERFISH/MERSCOPE, Visium HD, ATERA).
• Develop, adapt and fine-tune computational pipelines; collaborate with team members.
• Communicate results clearly across computational and experimental colleagues.
