Michael Page International (Belgium) is seeking an Accountant AZ for a public sector client based in Brussels. You will prepare and maintain financial records, ensure compliance with public sector regulations, manage payables and receivables, and assist in budgets and forecasts.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year in accounting, fluent English and French, solid knowledge of accounting principles and Winbooks, and valid EU work permit.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of Winbooks.
• Fluency in English and French.
• Strong knowledge of public sector financial regulations.
• Residence in Brussels.
• Valid EU work permit.
• Experience at least 1 year in accounting.
• Attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and public sector regulations.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
• Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation.
• Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow activities.
• Prepare and submit tax declarations and other regulatory filings.
• Provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
