Netcompany Belgium is seeking a BI Data Engineer to shape data platforms across Europe. You will design EDWs, data lakes, and lakehouse architectures, build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines, and develop dashboards for business stakeholders.

The role emphasizes data governance, quality, and secure, compliant data practices with modern BI tooling. Join a team delivering large-scale, international projects in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• EDW design and architecture knowledge including star/snowflake schemas.
• Experience with Data Lake/Data Lakehouse and scalable analytics platforms.
• Strong SQL and relational databases; NoSQL familiarity.
• Experience with BI, reporting, analytics, ETL/ELT tools such as Power BI/Tableau/Qlik/dbt/Informatica/Talend/Azure Data Factory.
• Knowledge of data governance, data lineage, cataloguing, and data observability.

• Design, develop, and maintain EDW, Data Lakes, and Data Lakehouse solutions across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines, orchestration workflows, and data virtualization solutions.
• Design scalable data models and modern BI architectures that support reporting and analytics.
• Develop dashboards and KPIs for self-service BI and stakeholders.
• Optimize database and BI platform performance with tuning, indexing, partitioning, caching.
• Implement data quality, observability, lineage, and GDPR/security governance.
• Define testing strategies, CI/CD deployments, and IaC for BI platforms.
• Produce documentation and enable data stewardship with certified datasets and training.

Job Description

Are you ready to join the forefront of technology as a BI Data Engineerin Netcompany?

As a BI Data Engineer you will:

• Design, develop, and maintain Enterprise Data Warehouses (EDW), Data Lakes, and Data Lakehouse solutions across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments.
• Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines, orchestration workflows, and data virtualization solutions to integrate and manage diverse data sources.
• Design scalable data models and modern BI architectures that support reporting, analytics, and business requirements.
• Develop dashboards, KPIs, and self-service BI solutions that provide actionable insights to business stakeholders.
• Optimize database and platform performance through query tuning, indexing, partitioning, caching, and resource scaling.
• Implement data quality, observability, lineage, and governance practices while ensuring compliance with GDPR and security standards.
• Define and execute testing strategies, automate deployments through CI/CD, and manage BI platform configurations using infrastructure-as-code.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation, support data stewardship initiatives, and enable business users through certified datasets and training.

Qualifications

What would make you a fit for the role:

• University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong knowledge of Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) design and architecture, including dimensional modelling and star/snowflake schemas.
• Experience with Data Lake and Data Lakehouse architectures and scalable analytics platforms.
• Excellent knowledge of SQL and relational databases, with familiarity with NoSQL databases.
• Experience with BI, reporting, analytics, ETL/ELT, and data pipeline technologies, such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, dbt, Informatica, Talend, or Azure Data Factory.
• Knowledge of data modelling, OLAP, data integration, near-real-time ingestion, and Change Data Capture (CDC) technologies.
• Experience with cloud data and BI platforms, together with knowledge of data governance, data lineage, cataloguing, and data observability.
• Excellent English communication skills; knowledge of French is a plus.
• Certification is a strong plus: Microsoft Data Analyst Associate, Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate, Amazon Certified Data Analytics Specialty, or an equivalent certification.
