Oliver James is engaging with a Brussels-based banking client to fill a Business Analyst role on the data team. This hands-on position involves building on an existing data warehouse, designing new queries, and evolving the data model to deliver actionable insights for critical banking functions.

You will work across core banking functions, write complex SQL, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into concrete data outputs while supporting the ongoing

Qualifications

• SQL at an advanced level - you can independently write complex queries, understand data relationships, and work confidently with large data models
• Data warehousing experience - you know how data flows from source systems into a DWH and you're comfortable working in that environment
• Advanced Excel - pivot tables, complex formulas, data manipulation - second nature to you
• Banking experience - you understand the sector, the terminology, and ideally the regulatory context that comes with it

Responsabilités

• Working across core banking functions with real visibility into how the business operates
• Writing complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyse data from a large and evolving data model
• Understanding and navigating the relationships between datasets - joins, subqueries, cross-referencing across tables
• Contributing to the development of new reporting and data solutions built on top of the existing data warehouse
• Collaborating closely with business stakeholders to translate their needs into actionable data outputs
• Supporting the ongoing migration of data from mainframe systems into the warehouse environment
