Job summary

Qargo is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to join our Ghent team and work on the backbone of our cloud-based Transport Management Platform. You will design, build, and maintain robust backend services and APIs using Python, Django, and GraphQL, with a focus on reliability and scalability for logistics across Europe.

You will collaborate with product managers and engineers, contribute to cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud, and help shape architecture and data flows.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in IT/CS/Software Engineering or equivalent.
• 2+ years of backend development experience.
• Ability to design scalable software solutions and understand tradeoffs.
• Growth mindset with willingness to learn and experiment.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, able to work independently and in a team.
• User-first mentality and collaborative teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services and APIs using Python, Django, GraphQL.
• Improve cloud infrastructure and backend code to support growing customer base.
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and other backend engineers to translate logistics challenges into scalable solutions.
• Contribute to architecture improvements and data flows for reliability and scalability.
• Drive ownership and shape future evolution of the platform.
