Astrea in Antwerp is seeking an Associate to strengthen our Corporate Litigation team. You will handle challenging matters for Belgian and international clients, guiding pre-litigation and court proceedings with a team of about 15 specialists.

The ideal candidate holds a Belgian Master of Laws (focus on corporate law) and has 4+ years of Corporate Litigation experience, fluent in Dutch and English with basic French.

• At least 4 years of solid experience in Corporate Litigation.
• Fluency in Dutch and English, with a basic command of French.

Responsabilités

• Guiding clients through pre-litigation and litigation phases.
• Drafting responses to queries and claims, assessing potential liability, advising on mitigating actions, and providing clear guidance on legal merits and strategic options.
• Preparing pleadings, summonses, conclusions and legal arguments, supported by thorough and relevant documentation.
• Being in close contact with clients, understanding their needs, and developing effective legal strategies.
• Representing Astrea at events, contributing to publications, and supporting external client seminars.
• Keeping your expertise up to date through active participation in practice groups, training and seminars.

Your role

As an Associate, you will take on challenging and varied work for large and mid-sized Belgian and international companies. You will join a team of around 15 Corporate M&A/Litigation specialists and work directly with clients.

Astrea’s Corporate Litigation team advises on:

• All forms of corporate litigation, from prelitigation strategy to full representation in court.
• Post-transaction claims, including price discussions, payment disputes and shareholder conflicts.
• Contentious matters related to venture capital and private equity transactions, such as investment or governance disputes.
• Complex corporate law conflicts, including director and auditor liability, stakeholder disagreements and challenges to corporate decisionmaking.

Your responsibilities include:

• Guiding clients through both the pre‑litigation and litigation phases.

Who are we looking for?

You have:

• A Belgian Master of Laws, ideally with a focus on corporate law.
• At least 4 years of solid experience in Corporate Litigation.
• Fluency in Dutch and English, with a basic command of French.
