Job summary

Loyens & Loeff N.V. (Belgium) is seeking a Junior/Medior associate for its Litigation & Risk Management Expertise Group in Brussels.

You will advise and represent clients in state court litigations and (international) arbitration proceedings under supervision of senior partners. We look for 2–4 years of litigation experience, Master’s in Belgian law, fluent Dutch, strong English, and a good passive knowledge of French.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Belgian law with an excellent academic record.
• 2–4 years of professional experience in litigation, with international litigation and arbitration experience.
• Proven practice of enforcement and attachment proceedings.
• Fluent in Dutch (oral and written), excellent English and good passive French.
• Proactive, results-driven team player with strong communication and client-relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Advise and represent clients in state court litigations and international arbitration proceedings.
• Work under supervision of partners Hakim Boularbah and Olivier van der Haegen.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments and offices to meet client needs.

Loyens & Loeff is currently looking for a Junior/Medior associate with between 2 and 4 years of experience for its Litigation & Risk Management Expertise Group. Loyens & Loeff has a strong track record with an established reputation in litigation and arbitration proceedings covering a wide range of industries, services and regions. You will join our Tier 1 Litigation & Arbitration practice and be based in Brussels. You will be responsible, under the supervision of Hakim Boularbah and Olivier van der Haegen, to advise and represent our clients in state court litigations and in (international) arbitration proceedings.

Your Profile: You hold a master's degree in Belgian law with an excellent academic record. You have between 2 and 4 years of professional experience in litigation, with experience in international litigation and arbitration, and notably proven practice of enforcement and attachment proceedings. You have a perfect oral and written knowledge of Dutch, you have an excellent knowledge of English and at least a good passive knowledge of French. You work proactively and you are result driven. You are a team player, and you communicate easily and effectively with your colleagues and clients. You are able to perform in-depth and creative analysis and to find pragmatic solutions that meet your clients’ requirements. You are eager to further develop your skills in a challenging and international working environment.
