Job summary

BMW Group Belux is seeking an experienced Accountant with a focus on accounts payable to join our finance team in Belgium. You will process invoices, ensure VAT compliance, post bank statements, and support month-end closes with reconciliations and analyses.

You will collaborate with suppliers, dealerships and internal teams, maintain master data, and contribute to process improvements. Fluency in Dutch and French, plus 1–3 years of relevant experience, are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 1 to 3 years of experience in accounting, accounts payable or accounts receivable.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, VAT regulations and financial administration processes.
• Excellent communication in Dutch and French.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily financial transactions, including bank statement postings, payment file preparation and cash allocation follow-up.
• Process incoming invoices while ensuring accurate VAT treatment and compliance with internal procedures.
• Reconcile and allocate customer payments in collaboration with the Collections team and support the write-off process of outstanding receivables.
• Maintain and update supplier and customer master data, including VAT information.
• Communicate with suppliers, dealerships, public authorities and banking partners, including the daily management of the Accounting and Accounts Payable mailboxes.
• Prepare account reconciliations and analyses of accounts receivable and accounts payable related general ledger accounts during month-end closing activities.
• Support audits, internal controls and continuous improvement initiatives by preparing reports, analysing discrepancies and identifying opportunities to enhance processes and efficiency.

What should you bring along?

• 1 to 3 years of experience in an accounting, accounts payable or accounts receivable environment.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles, VAT regulations and financial administration processes.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to reconcile accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with ERP and finance systems such as SAP and the ability to quickly learn company-specific applications (e.g. TWS, Miles).
• Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and French, with a proactive and collaborative mindset.
