Mackay Marine in Antwerp is seeking an experienced Marine Service Engineer to install, service and repair electronic equipment on board commercial ships. Under limited supervision you will work with RF, radar, and navigation systems.

Your duties include testing, adjusting, and troubleshooting electronics, drafting detailed service reports, and updating software as needed. Fluency in English and a valid passport are required, with previous FCC Radar endorsement and GMDSS preferred.

Qualifications

University degree or equivalent technical certifications and experience.
3+ years of experience as Marine Service Engineer or Marine Electronics Technician in commercial shipping.
Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
Strong knowledge of electronics theory and application.
Valid FCC General License with Radar Endorsement preferred
GMDSS Radio Operator Maintainer License preferred
Be physically fit. Work environment often involves carrying 10-23 kg., climbing ladders/masts, and exposure to weather.
Must have a valid passport, driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsabilités

Install, service, and repair electronic equipment on board commercial ships.
Test, adjust, and troubleshoot electronic components, PCBs, sub-assemblies, and antennas; load and update software.
Use RF knowledge and schematics to address technical problems and prepare detailed service reports.
Address RF systems and navigation equipment as part of maintenance and fault finding.
Compose a detailed service report documenting work performed.
