Abakus IT-Solutions in Brussels is seeking an experienced Java/Angular developer for a public‑sector project. You will design and build back-end Java and front-end Angular components, with Spring, Spring Boot and JPA, while applying Spring Security and Scrum practices.

Context and project

The assignment takes place at an IT operator in the Belgian public sector, responsible for the information systems and infrastructure of several administrations and institutions.

The project involves delivering standard interfaces that replace those of an existing IAM solution. Two use cases are covered:

• self-service management;
• delegated management on behalf of others.

The architecture separates front-end and back-end. Each part must be releasable independently, without requiring a release of the other.

Responsibilities

Design

• Contribute to the technical design of features alongside functional analysts, the technical lead and the team.
• Design application components in line with the project’s architecture and technical standards.
• Apply development best practices (Clean Code, quality).
• Identify technical impacts and dependencies on existing components.

Development

• Build and evolve back-end Java and front-end Angular components.
• Write the associated unit and integration tests.
• Fix defects and deliver functional and technical enhancements.
• Refactor existing code to improve readability, maintainability and performance.
• Take part in code reviews.

Deployment

• Prepare and deliver developments across the various environments.
• Validate the deployment and delivery of the solution.
• Follow the defined delivery processes and standards.

Quality

• Comply with the methodological and technological standards in place.
• Help reduce technical debt through refactoring and library and framework upgrades.
• Meet the team’s commitments and deadlines.

Communication

• Work daily with developers, functional analysts and testers.
• Report difficulties, concerns and technical risks to the Team Leader.
• Document developments where needed and share knowledge within the team.

Experience

• Proven experience as an application developer, with recent practice (this year).
