Septentrio in Leuven is seeking an AI Transformation Lead to shape and execute our AI strategy, translating business ambition into scalable AI solutions that deliver measurable impact. Reporting to the VP of Information Technology, you will define the foundations for AI implementation—data readiness, governance and solution architecture—while delivering high‑impact use cases across the business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
• Proven experience delivering AI, machine learning, or advanced data‑driven solutions in a professional environment.
• Strong hands‑on experience in designing, prototyping, building, and deploying AI‑powered applications or automation solutions.
• Experience with modern AI concepts such as generative AI, intelligent agents, analytics, and automation.
• Good understanding of modern data platform design, integration patterns, and AI data requirements.

Responsabilités

• Co-create and refine the company’s AI strategy together with senior leadership and external advisors.
• Translate strategic ambition into a clear AI roadmap with defined priorities, milestones, and measurable business outcomes.
• Continuously evolve the AI strategy based on business impact, technology developments, and market trends.
• Build and scale AI capabilities, platforms, and AI-powered solutions across the organization.
• Work closely with senior managers and AI champions to identify, design, and deliver high-impact AI use cases with a clear ROI focus.
• Design, select the appropriate platform, prototype, and deploy AI solutions with an initial focus on AI analytics, agentic AI, and sovereign AI.
• Combine hands‑on technical delivery with effective collaboration with external vendors and solution partners.
• Define and help drive the evolution of the organization’s data platform into an AI‑ready architecture.
• Ensure high‑quality, governed, and accessible data across business domains.
• Design scalable data pipelines, both batch and real‑time, together with robust integration patterns.
• Help define platform capabilities required for scalable AI solutions, including feature management, vector‑based retrieval, and data discoverability.
• Enable seamless integration between data platforms, AI models, and AI‑driven workflows.
• Contribute to strong data governance practices covering quality, lineage, security, and compliance.
• Translate data and technology assessments into a concrete platform roadmap and execution plan.
• Establish practical frameworks and guardrails for responsible AI development and deployment.
• Drive AI adoption by supporting internal AI champions and enabling business teams.
• Foster a culture of experimentation, learning, and continuous improvement.
