Job summary

VITO, based in Mol, Belgium, is seeking an AI Engineer to develop AI algorithms for Earth Observation applications. You will prototype and deploy pre-operational workflows and collaborate with EO, GIS, computer science, and engineering experts.

You will work with international partners, stay current with foundation models and multi-modal learning, and contribute to R&D projects. A MSc in a related field and strong Python/PyTorch skills are required.

Qualifications

• MSc degree in a relevant engineering or science field.
• Strong Python programming and PyTorch experience.
• Experience with EO or GIS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement AI algorithms for Earth Observation from prototype to pre-operational workflows.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to design, develop, and test AI solutions.
• Collaborate with international R&D partners and customers.
• Keep up to date with AI advances and apply them to EO problems.
