VITO seeks a Senior Software Engineer to evolve its EO processing services. You will build scalable Python components, ship microservices, and apply AI-assisted coding in a cloud-native stack.

You’ll work in an agile, international team bridging R&D to production, delivering reliable services for public authorities and industry. You’ll collaborate with architects and EO experts, contribute to testing and DevOps practices, and help ensure high quality, maintainability and velocity in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Strong proficiency in Python and object‑oriented programming.
• Proven experience in professional software engineering within an Agile environment.
• Experience working in DevOps-oriented environments (infrastructure, monitoring, automation).
• Experience with CI/CD and testing frameworks.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience in cloud-native deployments (Docker, Kubernetes, cloud providers).
• Experience with large-scale data processing (Apache Spark).
• Affinity with Earth Observation, geospatial data or scientific data processing.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a mindset of continuous learning.
• Ability to work independently toward clear outcomes, both individually and as part of a team.

Responsabilités

• Develop efficient services, algorithms and data processing workflows for EO satellite products.
• Translate prototypes and PoCs into robust, production-grade components.
• Deliver clean, well-documented Python code.
• Implement microservices and APIs that integrate with our processing platforms.
• Share responsibility for incident analysis, performance improvements and reliability.
• Use AI-assisted coding tools to improve efficiency and code quality.
• Ensure solid automated test coverage (unit, integration, regression).
• Collaborate with architects, product owners and EO experts to refine designs.
• Provide 3rd-line support for customer issues and anomalies.
• Contribute to architecture and tooling decisions across the team.
