Job summary

European Defence Agency seeks a Project Officer AI & Emerging Technologies within the BraveTech EU initiative. You will refine technology challenges in AI/Software-Defined Defence and help plan experiments, campaigns and assessments.

You will bridge TPU activities with OSRA priorities and coordinate CapTechs and related roadmaps, delivering strategic tech guidance for defence applications. You will support cross-cutting analyses, briefing notes and coordination across multiple directorates,

Qualifications

• University degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics/robotics or information technology.
• At least six (6) years of relevant professional experience after the qualification.
• Proven experience in defence research and technology, capability development or innovation.
• Experience in technology experimentation with non-traditional defence players.
• Experience in technology roadmapping and prioritisation for research and innovation.
• Good knowledge of European defence cooperation, policies and programmes.
• Very good command of written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Refine BraveTech EU technology challenges focusing on AI and Software-Defined Defence.
• Support planning of experimentation campaigns and technology challenges.
• Contribute to development of assessment criteria and evaluation methodologies for innovators and start-ups.
• Identify opportunities to transition BraveTech EU outcomes into wider EDA tech activities.
• Coordinate Research & CapTech Synchronisation for AI and Emerging Technologies.
• Translate innovation trends into input for TPU priorities and OSRA.
• Coordinate CapTechs, SRIA, Technology Building Blocks and roadmaps.
• Act as TPU focal point for technology roadmapping to OSRA, esp. AI.
• Provide analysis, briefing notes and strategic recommendations on AI and emerging technologies.
• Cross-cutting: prepare briefing notes, reports and management information; assist in project assessments.
