Job summary

Avanade Inc. invites students to join a multidisciplinary team for an internship focused on agentic engineering. You will design and implement a full-stack solution and drive the accompanying quality guardrails, including code-review agents and automated checks, using Copilot assets daily.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, refine requirements, document your work and deliver demos to Avanade stakeholders, shaping how AI-assisted development scales in practice.

Qualifications

• Strong object-oriented programming experience in Java, C#, Python, C++ or another OO language; C# and .NET knowledge is a significant advantage.
• Frontend experience with Angular, React, Vue or similar framework.
• Backend experience: building APIs or services; ASP.NET Core is an advantage.
• Solid understanding of core software engineering principles; clean, maintainable code; design patterns; SOLID, DRY, YAGNI, KISS.
• Testing mindset: unit/integration tests, static analysis, coverage thresholds, quality gates.
• Knowledge of SQL (SQL Server, Azure SQL) and NoSQL databases (Azure Cosmos DB).
• Git-based development: branches, commits, PRs, merge strategies, code reviews on GitHub.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation, especially GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or YAML.;
• Familiarity with Azure; motivated to learn cloud technologies.
• Interest in AI-assisted engineering; curious about GitHub Copilot, coding agents, agentic workflows.

Responsibilities

• Build the demonstration application: design and implement a full-stack solution (frontend, backend, database).
• Drive quality: apply clean-code principles, design patterns and automated testing; define code-review agents and quality gates.
• Apply agentic development: use GitHub Copilot and custom agents across requirements refinement, coding, review and documentation.
• Shape the review process: experiment with AI code review agents and measure their effectiveness.
• Contribute Copilot assets: co-author Copilot instructions, skills, prompt libraries and agents for Frontend, Backend & .NET and Quality supply chains.
• Document and demo: write technical/functional docs and present demos to Avanade stakeholders.
