Job summary

Atlas Copco Group in Belgium is seeking a Technology Developer to act as a technical authority in advanced gas compressor technologies, with emphasis on thermodynamics, modelling, and first-principles engineering. You will develop analytical and numerical models to simulate compressor behavior across gases and conditions.

You validate models against experimental data, define critical operating scenarios, and shape the technology roadmap.

Qualifications

• Master in Electromechanical, Energy or Mechatronics engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Extensive knowledge of thermodynamics and structural analysis.
• Programming capabilities with Matlab.
• Very good knowledge of English; another language is a plus.
• Genuine interest in technology and innovation.
• Enjoys a dynamic and multi-disciplinary working environment.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical authority in development of advanced gas compressor technologies with emphasis on thermodynamics, modelling and first-principles engineering.
• Develop analytical and numerical models to simulate compressor behavior across gases and operating conditions.
• Validate and continuously improve models using experimental data to align simulation with real performance.
• Define critical operating scenarios and boundary conditions; evaluate performance limits and risks.
• Define and drive the technology roadmap; lead and contribute to BDC activities and support strategic decisions.
