Michael Page is recruiting an Accounting Manager in Brussels for a renewable energy client. You will lead the accounting function, own month-end and year-end close, and oversee VAT compliance across Belgium and Europe.

You will manage 2 direct reports, liaise with auditors, drive process improvements, and contribute to finance automation and AI initiatives. The package includes a salary up to €6,000 gross/month, a 13th month, and flexible work arrangements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of accounting experience.
• Fluent in French or Dutch and English.
• Strong experience in VAT compliance and tax declarations.
• Experience with multi-country VAT registrations and compliance is a strong asset.
• Experience with Dynamics 365 is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Lead the accounting function and ensure compliant financial reporting.
• Own the month-end and year-end close process.
• Manage, coach, and develop the accounting team (2 direct reports).
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger.
• Lead external audits and coordinate with auditors.
• Oversee Belgian and European VAT compliance.
• Advise on accounting policies and complex transactions.
• Review reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and key journal entries.
• Improve processes, controls, and accounting procedures.
• Drive finance systems, automation, and AI initiatives.
