EXMAR Group is seeking an Accounting Manager to strengthen the Finance team at our Antwerp HQ. The role oversees accounting, closing and reporting for multiple subsidiaries in accordance with IFRS and BE GAAP, reporting to the Head of Consolidation & Accounting.

You will ensure timely closures, supervise GL accountants, and drive process improvements while maintaining compliance with statutory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy is required.
• Minimum 5 years of General Ledger accounting experience.
• Strong people-management and deadline discipline.
• Solid IFRS and Belgian GAAP knowledge; VAT and corporate tax basics.
• Fluent in English and Dutch, written and spoken.

The EXMAR Group is currently looking for an Accounting Manager to reinforce the Finance team at our Antwerp HQ.

Your role in the team

The Accounting Manager reviews and manages the accounting, closing and reporting process for several subsidiaries of the EXMAR Group in compliance with the applicable accounting standards (IFRS & BE GAAP) and other statutory/group requirements.

The Accounting Manager reports to the Head of Consolidation & Accounting.

Your Responsibilities And Tasks Include

• Follow up execution of closing activities and review monthly/quarterly trial balances;
• Manage quarterly group reporting submission;
• Review yearly statutory accounts and communicate with audit & legal department;
• Follow up, guide and assist the GL accountants;
• Define actions for further automation and/or efficiency improvement.

Your profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy;
• 5 years’ experience in General Ledger Accounting role (A-Z);
• Demonstrated people management skills;
• Proven ability to meet strict internal/external reporting deadlines;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify and resolve issues within accounting systems;
• Advanced proficiency in MS office applications, in particular Excel;
• Solid knowledge of Belgian General Accepted Accounting Principles;
• Basic knowledge of VAT and corporate income tax;
• Good understanding of IFRS;
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Dutch.
