Job summary

Forvis Mazars Ghent is seeking an accounting intern to join our Accountancy team. You will work closely with senior accountants in the Ghent office and gain hands-on experience on client files.

You will support daily bookkeeping, prepare information for client questions, assist with reconciliations, interim closings, and VAT filings under supervision.

Fluency in Dutch and English and being a student in Economics or Accountancy are required; February 2027 start is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's or bachelor's student in (Applied) Economics, Accountancy, or related field.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; capable of professional communication.
• Preferably available from February 2027.

Responsibilities

• Support the team with daily accounting of client files, including booking invoices and financial transactions.
• Assist in preparing information and draft responses to client questions under supervision.
• Contribute to internal discussions by researching and preparing background information.
• Support interim closings and year-end file preparation, including document organization and reconciliations.
• Assist with reporting tasks and draft VAT returns under guidance.
