Huvepharma N.V. is seeking a full-time Accountant in Belgium, Antwerp. The successful candidate will join a small team, reporting to the Chief Accountant, and handle VAT declarations across BE and other EU regions, invoicing, and monthly closings.

• 5+ years of experience in accountancy is required.
• Strong VAT knowledge is preferred.
• Excellent IT skills including Excel and Word; experience with Isabel, MS AX2012 and MS D365 F&O.
• Fluency in Dutch and English is required.
• Candidate should be accurate, stress resistant and responsible.
• Candidate should be proactive with an analytical mindset.

Responsabilités

• Handle VAT declarations (BE and other EU) monthly and quarterly.
• Support daily accounting tasks (journals, vendor invoices).
• Provide back-up to other accountants.
• Manage cash flow (foreign currency exchanges, ICO payments).
• Prepare vendor payments in Isabel.
• Manage expense note application and finance mailbox.
• Record monthly accruals and deferrals.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closings.
• Contribute to ad hoc optimization projects.

The accounting team currently consists of two accountants. The new accountant role is a full-time position (40 hours a week) with flexible working hours, reporting to the Chief Accountant.

Function

In this position you will be dealing with:

• Various VAT-declarations (BE + other EU) on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Assisting the team in the daily operational accounting tasks (financial journals, purchase invoices,...)
• Back-up of other accountants
• Cashflow management (preparing foreign currency exchanges, ICO-payments,...)
• Preparing vendor payments in Isabel
• Controlling and administrating the expense note application
• Handling of the general finance mailbox
• Preparing and recording monthly accruals and deferrals
• Assisting in month-end and year-end closing
• Assisting in ad hoc projects to optimise current processes

Profile

• You have obtained a bachelor's degree in accountancy
• You have 5+ years of experience in accountancy
• You have strong VAT knowledge and experience is a plus
• You have good IT skills (Excel, Word and Isabel, MS AX2012, MS D365 F&O)
• You are fluent in Dutch and English
• You are accurateand stress-resistant with a great sense of responsibility
• You are proactive, eager to learn and have an analytical mindset
