Position Overview:
We’re looking for a motivated individual to join our team as a Team Leader. While qualifications and experience are preferred, they’re not essential—we value the right attitude and a passion for supporting others. The ideal candidate will be focused, organised, and a great team player, ready to lead and inspire our support workers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and work alongside a team of support workers, ensuring high-quality care and support for our participants.
- Ensure staff are motivated, adhere to best practices and protocols, assign tasks, and monitor performance. Develop and oversee personalised care plans for each service user.
- Maintain a safe, clean environment conducive to the well-being of service users.
- Handle incidents or emergencies effectively, ensuring quick and appropriate action.
- Maintain accurate records of service users' progress, incidents, and care needs.
- Report concerns to senior management and contribute to audits or evaluations.
- Build positive relationships with families and guardians, providing updates and listening to concerns.
- Act as the main contact for families and external stakeholders regarding services.
- Organise and lead recreational, educational, and therapeutic activities to enhance social interaction and development.
- Foster a culture of inclusion, respect, and dignity.
- Manage purchasing of materials and supplies, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising quality.
- Address conflicts among staff, service users, or families.
- Use strong communication and problem-solving skills to resolve challenges promptly.
- Promote positive relationships and a supportive atmosphere.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conduct risk assessments, and implement safety protocols.
- Oversee medication administration, ensuring accuracy and safety.
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualifications in disability support or related fields.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Administer medications certificate (can be obtained).
- First Aid and CPR certificates.
