Job summary

The Salvation Army Australia is seeking a proactive Youth & Young Adults Secretary to strengthen and shape regional ministry, supporting current programs and helping develop future initiatives that engage the next generation. This is a permanent, part-time role based in Northbridge, WA.

You will implement the National Youth & Young Adults strategy, coach regional leaders, plan impactful events, and collaborate with Area Officers and Mission teams while upholding safeguarding practices and the

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in youth and young adult’s ministry or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge and experience in youth and young adult’s ministry including in pastoral care.
• Comprehensive understanding of The Salvation Army Culture.
• Active involvement in church ministries with the Salvation Army.
• A Working with Children Check is required.
• A national police record check is required.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of the National Youth & Young Adults strategy, building leadership capacity through coaching, training, and ministry development.
• Plan and deliver impactful events that engage young people, support frontline ministries, and model best practice.
• Coach, develop, and support regional youth ministry leaders and teams to strengthen ministry effectiveness.
• Partner with Area Officers, local leaders, and Mission teams to identify opportunities, share resources, and ensure consistent ministry practices.
• Stay informed on emerging trends, research, and the evolving needs of young people, providing insights to strengthen regional and national ministry outcomes.
• Facilitate outcome-focused initiatives, support leader engagement with programs and events, and champion safeguarding practices that protect vulnerable people.

About The Role

This is a permanent, part-time role offering 19 hours per week, based in Northbridge, WA.
