Job summary

Conflict Resolution Service Inc. is seeking a Casual Youth Worker to support young people accessing therapeutic accommodation as part of the Safe and Connected Youth program in the ACT.

The role involves weekend shifts, active nights, and sleepovers to maintain a safe, therapeutic environment at the respite house. You will work with children aged 8–15 and families dealing with conflict and risk of homelessness, applying trauma-informed, strength-based approaches and coordinating care with other

Qualifications

• Client-centred, holistic approach when working with clients.
• Trauma-informed practice knowledge and application.
• Ability to collaborate with other professionals to improve outcomes for youths and families.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Solid safeguarding understanding.
• Ability to document comprehensive case notes.
• Flexible and able to adapt to changing environments.
• Capacity to work with high-need and complex families.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality support to young people in therapeutic accommodation.
• Work with families to reduce risk of homelessness.
• Carry out daily activities and supervise youth in the respite house.
• Participate in safeguarding practices and reporting.
• Support Senior Youth Worker with administrative tasks as needed.
