Job summary

Lives Lived Well is seeking a Peer Support Worker for headspace Southport on a part-time basis to support young people. You will draw on personal lived experience to provide hope, encouragement and meaningful peer guidance within a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires three days per week (Tuesday and Thursday essential) with a flexible third day and includes salary packaging and pro-rated salary plus superannuation.

Qualifications

• Personal lived experience of mental health challenges that informs support
• Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team with clinicians
• Commitment to child safety, cultural safety and inclusive practice
• Ability to obtain Blue Card and National Police Check
• Valid Queensland Driver Licence

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support to young people in the service
• Use lived experience to inspire hope and recovery
• Build genuine, supportive relationships with clients
• Help clients identify strengths, goals and opportunities
• Facilitate engagement in wellbeing and recovery activities
• Support group activities and peer-led discussions
• Collaborate with clinicians and the multidisciplinary team
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
• Contribute to a recovery-oriented team culture
