Job summary

Cobham YJC in Kingswood NSW is seeking an Assistant Manager, Centre to ensure high-quality client services for young people in a secure therapeutic setting. You will lead a multidisciplinary team across client services, counselling and WHS while upholding policy and legislation.

The role requires tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and experience managing teams within criminal justice or human services. A NSW driver’s licence, First Aid, WWC and security clearances are expected.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in behavioural/social sciences, education, psychology or relevant experience managing multidisciplinary teams within a criminal justice or human services environment.
• NSW Drivers licence (minimum class C)
• Provide First Aid certificate (HLTAID003)
• Working with Children Check clearance under the WWC Act 2012
• National Criminal History Record Check under the Disability Inclusion Act 2014

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of staff including work allocation and rostering, performance management and learning and development to deliver centre programs.
• Oversee delivery of client services based on a multidisciplinary model including psychological, counselling, health, education services.
• Coordinate the design, delivery, monitoring, evaluation and funding of programs provided by centre and community-based providers.
• Coordinate the preparation of reports and submissions (issues/incidents, ministerial briefings, SYORP, Parole Reviews).
• Lead development and review of young persons’ case plans to support service delivery.
• Develop and model operational procedures and quality assurance systems; monitor staff practice and ensure compliant operations.
• Perform quality assurance reviews and promote safe work practices and a secure environment.
• Monitor admissions, discharges, court attendances, transfers, absences, visits and incidents; evaluate security ratings and risk assessments.
• Lead and support staff, set standards, provide on-call coverage as Duty Manager.
