Job summary

The Department of Justice and Community Safety (Youth Justice) in Victoria seeks an Admissions Officer based at Malmsbury Youth Justice Precinct with flexibility across Parkville and Cherry Creek. You will manage admission records, CRIS data, and transfers for young people entering youth justice facilities.

Essential skills include strong admin and data entry, proficiency with Excel and MS Office, and the ability to maintain a safe environment for youths and staff.

Qualifications

• Excellent administrative and data entry skills.
• Understanding of the Youth Justice CRIS system is highly regarded.
• Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate CRIS records for admissions, releases, court appearances, sentences, bail and temporary leave.
• Ensure admission processes are followed and update systems for safe transfers between custodial precincts.
• Record movements, conduct searches and monitor alarms to maintain a safe environment.
• Coordinate the transfer of young people between Cherry Creek and Malmsbury Youth Justice Precincts.
• Provide care, supervision, safety and supportive contact for young people in custody.
