Zusammenfassung

Life Without Barriers welcomes a Youth Worker to help young people in the Southern Downs region (Warwick, Stanthorpe and surrounds) access safe housing and community supports. You will deliver home and community-based support, focusing on routines, life skills and independence with trauma-informed care.

This permanent part-time role offers meaningful outcomes, supportive teams, and opportunities for professional development within our Youth Housing service in Queensland.

Qualifikationen

• Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention (Residential Care) or equivalent.
• Experience supporting young people, ideally those homeless or at risk of homelessness.
• Ability to support daily routines and skill development, responding to behaviour using observation and de-escalation.
• Understanding trauma-informed practice and attachment.
• Strong communication and teamwork, following care plans and therapeutic frameworks.
• Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certificates.
• Queensland Driver’s Licence.

Aufgaben

• Build and maintain therapeutic relationships with young people, providing consistent support.
• Assist young people to access and maintain safe and stable accommodation.
• Provide day-to-day support including routines, transport and practical assistance.
• Develop independent living skills including budgeting, cooking, personal care and household responsibilities.
• Encourage participation in education, employment and community supports for long-term stability.
• Work with the team to provide trauma-informed support and complete documentation as required.
