Job summary

Life Without Barriers in Sydney is seeking a Youth Worker (Interim Care) to provide direct support and mentorship to children and young people aged 9-14 who have faced trauma, abuse or neglect. You will help create a safe, homelike environment, teach life skills, problem solving and positive relationship building, while working a roster that includes afternoon, sleepover and weekend shifts.

• Experience supporting children and young people who have experienced childhood trauma, have a disability and/or exhibit pain-based behaviours of concern (ideally within a residential care setting)
• Ability to develop positive relationships with children and young people through visible interest and active engagement.
• An understanding of the importance of family/kinship connections to children and young people in placement
