Life Without Barriers in Hobart, Tasmania, seeks an Operations Manager to lead the development of a new Youth Bail Support Program. The role concentrates on intensive, community-based support for young people on bail, building relationships and practical support.

You will oversee program establishment, partnerships and a capable team, with a focus on safe, strengths-based outcomes and trauma-informed practice across outreach services.

Formación

• A recognised degree in Human Services or related field.
• Significant leadership in youth services, youth justice, child and family services, or related field.
• Experience establishing, developing or improving programs and services.
• Understanding of youth justice systems, bail conditions and challenges for young people.
• Experience leading teams delivering complex, community-based or outreach services.
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed, strengths-based practice.
• Ability to establish partnerships with families, communities and government agencies.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience in operational management, including workforce planning, budgets, performance monitoring, risk management and quality improvement.
• Commitment to culturally safe practice and working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the establishment, implementation and ongoing development of the new Youth Bail Support Program.
• Oversee MAPSS, ensuring young people receive individualized support.
• Oversee Placement Preservation Support Program, developing Family Action Plans with families.
• Develop operational processes, service delivery approaches and team practices aligned with the YAP model.
• Recruit, lead, develop and support Youth Advocates to build strong relationships with young people and families.
• Embed strengths-based, trauma-informed, culturally responsive practice.
• Oversee planning, workforce management, budgets, performance, quality assurance and compliance.
• Establish partnerships with families, community organisations and government agencies.
• Ensure services help young people meet bail conditions and engage with family, culture, education and employment.
• Promote outreach-focused approach including after-hours support where required.
• Monitor outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement.
