Job summary

Hedland Senior High School in Western Australia seeks an experienced Teacher/Year Coordinator to join the Student Support team. You will promote wellbeing, lead a year group, and work with the Deputy Principal to implement a streamlined behaviour framework across the school.

You will coordinate transition programs, organise activities, and provide counsel to students and families on academic, attendance and social-emotional concerns. A collaborative, proactive approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Eligible teacher qualification and registration.
• Australian citizenship, permanent resident status, or valid work rights.
• Clear Working with Children Check and Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Year Coordinator role to support student wellbeing and collaborate with allied staff.
• Review behaviour policies and implement a school-wide Positive Behaviour Support framework.
• Coordinate transitions, plan activities and events to promote student engagement and attendance.
• Counsel students, carers and staff on academic, behavioural and attendance concerns.
• Develop and monitor in-school and extra-curricular programs to maximise participation.
• Support student leadership and facilitate community collaboration across school groups.
