Job summary

Desian Education is recruiting for a dedicated Year 6 Teacher for a welcoming primary school in Aintree, starting January 2027. You will lead a Year 6 class, deliver and assess lessons, and prepare pupils for SATs, supporting their progression to secondary education.

The successful candidate will hold QTS, Full Enhanced DBS, and experience in Key Stage 2, with strong behaviour management and a positive, nurturing approach. This is a long-term, full-time role with strong classroom support.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required.
• Full Enhanced DBS required.
• Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6.
• Confident delivering Upper Key Stage 2 curriculum.
• Experience preparing pupils for SATs desirable.
• Strong behaviour management and classroom organisation skills.
• Reliable, committed and able to build relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

Responsibilities

• Full responsibility for a Year 6 class.
• Planning, delivering and assessing lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
• Preparing pupils for SATs and supporting them to achieve their individual targets.
• Delivering engaging and challenging lessons across the curriculum.
• Creating a positive, inclusive and well-managed learning environment.
• Monitoring pupil progress and implementing targeted interventions where required.
• Working closely with teaching assistants, colleagues and senior leaders.
• Building strong relationships with pupils, parents and staff.
• Contributing to the wider life of the school.
