Job summary

McGuire Hotels is hiring a Commis Chef for the Yarrabilba Hotel in Queensland. The role involves assisting the Head and Sous Chefs in daily kitchen tasks, ensuring quality, hygiene and menu development, while maintaining stock and general duties to support a fast-paced hotel kitchen.

Ideal candidates bring at least 1 year in a similar role, strong food safety knowledge and a team-focused attitude, with formal culinary training viewed favorably.

• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.

This is a full-time role based in Yarrabilba, Queensland, a rapidly growing community with a thriving hospitality scene. As a Commis Chef, you will play a crucial part in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the daily preparation and cooking of meals in a fast-paced hotel kitchen environment
• Ensuring the highest standards of food quality, presentation and hygiene are maintained
• Collaborating with the team to develop and implement new menu items
• Undertaking general kitchen duties such as stock control, food preparation and cleaning
• Providing excellent customer service to hotel guests and restaurant patrons

What we're looking for

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Commis Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
• Excellent time management and multi-tasking abilities
