Job summary

Coates Campbellfield is seeking a dedicated Yardperson to keep equipment clean, organised and ready for hire. You’ll assist with loading and unloading, maintenance tasks and daily yard operations in a fast-paced team environment.

We value safety and customer service, require a current driver’s licence and ideally a forklift licence, with opportunities to train and progress within a supportive, safety-focused culture at Coates.

Qualifications

• Evidence of safety focus and ability to uphold Safe Work practices.
• Current driver’s licence is required; forklift licence preferred.
• Forklift licence or willingness to obtain is essential.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and problem solving.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Experience in equipment hire, warehousing or yard operations is valued.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean and organised yard environment.
• Wash, clean and prepare equipment for customer hire.
• Load and unload equipment safely from customer and transport vehicles.
• Operate forklifts and other equipment as required.
• Conduct equipment checks and assist with basic maintenance tasks.
• Support stock control and equipment movements within the branch.
• Complete required paperwork and system updates.
• Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
• Contribute to Coates' Safety First culture and Zero Harm commitment.

About the Role

As a Yardperson, you'll be responsible for ensuring equipment is clean, organised, ready for hire and safely stored within the Campbellfield branch. You'll assist with loading and unloading equipment, maintaining a tidy yard, and supporting basic maintenance activities to keep our operations running smoothly.

What You'll Be Doing
