Job summary

Australian Architectural Fire Doors in Narangba, Queensland is seeking a Yardman / Forklift Driver to join our team. This casual role (38hrs/wk) leads to a full-time position, supporting warehouse and distribution operations.

You will operate forklifts, manage yard movements, perform inspections, assist with inventory control, and help maintain safety and organisation throughout the facility.

Qualifications

• Forklift operation experience or willingness to obtain licence.
• Experience in yard or warehousing/logistics role.
• Proficiency in moving, stacking and storing goods safely.
• Strong health and safety awareness and compliance with workplace regulations.
• Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Physical fitness for manual handling tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, stack, and store goods.
• Perform yard maintenance tasks such as sweeping, cleaning, and organising yard areas.
• Conduct pre-operation inspections on forklifts and report issues.
• Assist with inventory control and ensure goods are stored correctly.

Job description

Australian Architectural Fire Doors is seeking a Yardmen / Forklift Driver to join our team at our Narangba, Queensland facility. This is a 38hrs casual position leading to full-time position that offers flexibility whilst providing essential support to our factory and distribution operations. In this role, you will be responsible for managing yard operations, operating forklifts, and ensuring the smooth movement of goods throughout our facility. This position is integral to maintaining the efficiency and safety of our warehouse and distribution centre.

What you'll be doing

• Operating forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move, stack, and store goods within the yard and factory
• Performing yard maintenance tasks including sweeping, cleaning, and organizing yard areas to ensure a safe and productive working environment
• Conducting pre-operation inspections on forklifts and reporting any maintenance issues promptly
• Assisting with inventory control and ensuring goods are stored in designated areas according to company procedures
• Maintaining accurate records of goods movement and yard activities
• Following all health and safety regulations and company policies at all times
• Supporting other warehouse and logistics staff as needed to meet operational demands

What we’re looking for

• A valid Forklift Licence or the willingness to obtain one
• Previous experience as a Yardman or in a similar warehousing or logistics role
• Demonstrated proficiency in operating forklifts and material handling equipment safely
• A strong commitment to health and safety practices and compliance with workplace regulations
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail
• Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual handling tasks regularly
• Excellent communication skills and a reliable, punctual work ethic
• Experience with warehouse management systems or inventory tracking is desirable
