Dressed Timber Products Pty Ltd – Brassall QLD

The Yard Store Hand role is based at Dressed Timber Products, Brassall, reporting to the Operations Manager. The position involves customer service, preparing goods for dispatch, loading and unloading deliveries using a forklift or manually, driving a ute/small car licence to perform deliveries, stock control, yard maintenance, and vehicle or machinery inspections.

Casual position with full-time hours (with possibility to go to full-time permanent).

Early starts are required.

Position available at our Brassall location.

What You'll Do

Picking and organising timber materials:

Accurately pick and organise timber orders based on customer specifications and paperwork.

Operate machinery and equipment (i.e. forklifts) safely and efficiently to move timber around the yard.

Safely load and unload trucks using forklift.

Maintain the sheds in an organised and tidy manner.

Deliveries:

Hold a valid car licence and be comfortable driving a company vehicle to deliver timber to customers within a local area.

Ensure safe and timely delivery of materials, maintaining a professional demeanor with customers.

Safely lift, carry, and move timber materials, ensuring correct lifting techniques.

Assist with loading and unloading deliveries.

Safety:

Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and others.

Report any safety hazards or concerns immediately.

Participate in safety training programs as required.

About you

Must hold a forklift license (LF) (essential)

Must be reliable as we are a small team

Knowledge of timber and hardware materials (preferred but no essential)

Friendly and professional approach to customers

Experience with safe loading and unloading of vehicles

Literacy and numeracy skills sufficient for reading and recording orders, and making calculations and measurements

License appropriate for vehicle operated (C for utes, MR or HR for trucks)

Ability to follow and implement safe work practices

Ability to perform risk assessments on work tasks

Ability to perform lifting and physical jobs during a normal working day, get in and out of vehicles while maintaining 3 points of contact, climb stairs, and communicate verbally and in writing

Fit to complete repetitive manual labour

Casual position hourly rate: $33/hour - $37/hour (includes 25% loading). Scale depends on experience in similar role.
