Job summary

Ozbuild Materials is seeking a hands-on yard operator in Queensland. You will operate a forklift, load and unload deliveries, and assist customers collecting orders. A strong focus on safety, reliability, and teamwork is essential to keep a busy yard running smoothly.

Responsibilities include preparing orders, checking quantities, receiving stock, and maintaining a safe, clean yard. Clear communication with the team and customers is important for prioritising deliveries.

Qualifications

• Current Australian LF forklift licence.
• Experience operating a forklift and loading/unloading in a yard.
• Experience loading into customer vehicles or trucks.
• Commitment to safe working practices and taking initiative.
• Reliable, punctual and able to work in a small team.
• Clear, respectful communication with customers and colleagues.
• Ability to complete manual handling duties in a yard setting.

Job description

This is a hands‑on position combining forklift operation, loading and unloading (timber, sheet products & builders hardware), order preparation and general yard duties. You'll also assist customers collecting orders, so being helpful, approachable and able to communicate clearly is important.

Key responsibilities

• Operating a forklift safely and confidently within the yard & warehouse
• Loading and unloading suppliers/delivery trucks (non-covered area)
• Loading products into customer vehicles
• Picking, packing and preparing customer orders
• Checking products and quantities before orders leave the yard
• Receiving and putting away incoming stock
• Keeping the yard clean, organised and safe
• Assisting customers to locate and collect their products
• Completing general yard and manual handling duties
• Communicating with the team about orders, deliveries and priorities

About you

• A current Australian LF forklift licence
• Previous forklift operating experience (Combi lift highly regarded)
• Experience loading and unloading trucks or customer vehicles
• A strong commitment to safe working practices
• A reliable and consistent work ethic
